Lee County – Western Harnett Preview

The Lee County Yellow Jackets (9-0, 3-0) will go on the road Friday night to face the Western Harnett Eagles (2-7, 0-3) on Senior Night at Eagle Stadium.   Lee County will be looking to enhance their playoff seeding with a win.

When Western Harnett Has the Ball

The Eagle offense has been challenged to score this season and now will face the best defense they will see all season.   The Yellow Jackets have been impressive against the run and will make it difficult to do anything on the ground.   The Eagles will have to be creative offensively and hope the defense can create some turnovers and keep the ball away from Lee County.

When Lee County Has the Ball

The Yellow Jackets can run & throw and have lived by the motto of “We’ll take what they give us.”   Colin Johnson has been superb and steady at QB while AJ Boulware and Larry Baldwin handle the rushing duties.    If the Jackets execute their offense as they should, it could be a long night for the Eagles.   Lee County has a ton of weapons on offense and the Yellow Jackets should put points on the board in this one.

Intangibles

It’s hard to find an intangible favoring the Eagles (other than playing at home) and the realization of not making the playoffs has probably set in.   Look for Lee County to have the advantage in this one and move their record to 4-0 in conference play.    It will take turnovers for the Eagles to be competitive and the Yellow Jackets, should they hang onto the ball, should be in good shape on Friday night.
