Rain Disrupts Opening Night of High School Football Season (Updated)

Rain and lightning stopped the play of local high school games Friday night in the Tri-County 3A conference. Hoke County at Southern Lee never got started and will play Monday at 7:00 with a 6:30 airtime on WWGP 95.1 FM & 1050 AM and will stream on www.wfjawwgpradio.com.

The Lee County Yellow Jackets led 3-0 with just under 4 minutes left in the 1st quarter when play was called and after a 30 minute delay, officials moved the completion of the game to Monday night at 6:00. Airtime will start at 5:30 on WFJA 105.5 FM and stream on www.wfjawwgpradio.com.

Harnett Central moved to Saturday night and beat West Johnson 7-0 while Union Pines, Western Harnett, and Triton will all play at 7:00 on Monday night.
