Cavaliers Lose Season Opener to Hoke Co 19-6
The Southern Lee Cavaliers opened the 2019 Season with a tough home loss to the Bucks of Hoke County at Cavalier Stadium in a non-conference game by a 19-6 score. Hoke County’s run game and defensive speed proved too much for the Cavaliers as the Bucks shut down the Cavalier offense . Southern Lee Senior QB Thomas Harrington, finished 14 of 26 for 154 yards and a 28-yd touchdown pass to Tanoah Lockley in the 4th quarter for the only Cavalier score on the night. The quick Hoke Co defense held the Cavaliers to 3 yards rushing for the night. Elijah Foxx was the Player of the Game for Southern Lee with a key interception and 6 catches for 62 yards. Southern Lee drops to 0-1 and plays on the road at Pinecrest on Friday.
