Lee County Trails Anson 13-7 in Third Quarter – To Finish Monday @ 6:00
The Lee County – Anson matchup was called once in the 1st quarter for 30 minutes and then for the night at the 4:04 mark in the 3rd with Anson leading Lee County 13-7. Anson had the ball inside the Yellow Jacket 5 yard line – looking to take a two-score lead – when play was stopped for lightning. The game will resume Monday night at 6:00.
Lee County’s Jayden Chalmers returned the opening kickoff for a score to take a 7-0 lead 10 seconds into the game, but it was all Bearcats from there. Anson was just over 100 yards rushing through 2 1/2 quarters, but it was the passes from Wesley Leak (26 thus far) that picked apart the Jacket secondary for 157 yards and 2 scores. AJ Boulware has 50 yards rushing on 9 carries for Lee County including a 21-yarder on his 3rd carry.
