Lee County Stays Unbeaten – Downs Trojans 35-17
The Lee County Yellow Jackets overcame a slow start to beat Harnett Central on the road by a 35-17 score. AJ Boulware had 226 yards on 28 carries and 3 scores to lead Lee County. Lee County has now won 13 straight Tri-County 3A games and their 32nd straight regular season game. The Yellow Jackets trailed 10-0 after the first 6 minutes but reeled off 35 straight to take control. Larry Baldwin added 2 scores and 66 yards rushing on 12 carries. The Yellow Jackets had 365 yards of total offense to 164 for the Trojans. Lee County held the Trojans to 28 yards in the 2nd half.
Lee County kicker Trey Underwood, who entered the game 5th on the all-time kick-scoring list in NC High School Football with 299 points added 5 PATs to move his total to 304. Robert Brown of Amount Airy HS is currently in 4th with 328. Lee County will be on the road next Friday night at Western Harnett. Harnett Central will play at Southern Lee next Friday night.
